Artwork of The Hunter.

The Hunter is a Monster created by fan and artist Stephen Andrade in relation to a contest based around The Cabin in The Woods' visual companion.

Physical Description and Attributes[]

In the drawing, the Hunter is seen as an undead or zombified Native American man who appears to also be possessed by some supernatural or evil force. He wears little-to-no clothing, only a tribal piece of fabric tied around his waist. His skin is a pale green color, and he has thick red tribal markings, possibly of blood, on his face and chest. His hair is black, and is long enough to fall down to the middle of his back. His eyes also appear to glow red. The Hunter carries two weapons. a tomahawk and a bow and arrow. In addition, he also has two black crow feathers on his head, and a pair of crows is seen flying around him, indicating he has command over them or they are bound to him somehow.

There is additional artwork for the Hunter's summoning item, which is a stone arrowhead with tribal markings on it. If someone pricks their finger on the arrowhead's sharp tip, the blood will fuse with the arrow and the Hunter will be summoned. Overall, the Hunter is very based around blood and possibly blood magic, which is an ancient form of magic that binds the blood of either the user or someone else to seek results of some kind, such as good/bad fortune, healing, cursing, etc.

Inspiration[]

According to the website aintitcool the Hunter was inspired by the movie trope of "The Indian Burial Ground" by the artist who created it.
