CITW - twins

The Twins, in their cube.

The Twins are Monsters kept in the Facility. They are listed on the Whiteboard but are not bet on.

Physical Description and Attributes[]

The Twins are two identical-looking young girls. They are seen wearing the same white dresses, pink shoes and long white socks. Their hair is blonde and falls to their shoulders. The Twins are almost always seen holding hands and moving in unison. This, along with their confinement together in one cube, suggests that the Twins operate as a single entity, The Twins are not shown to carry any items or weapons with them, implying they possess some sort of supernatural abilities that can be used to kill their victims. Their behavior in their cube and during the System Purge reflects an incredibly calm and neutral demeanor almost unbothered by the carnage and chaos around them.

While their respective cellar object is unknown, it is possible the pair of identical stuffed bears in the cellar will summon the Twins to the Cabin.

Appearances[]

Twins

The first time the Twins can be spotted is in their Cube Prison, as the camera pans-out. There they are seen holding hands before slowly turning to look at each other. The second time they are seen is briefly through a CCTV camera, when Dana and Marty are hiding in the Elevator Lobby's Control Room to evade the Security Force. The third and final time they are seen is when the film shows multiple camera angles at once during the Purge. On the lower right hand camera, the Twins can be seen slowly stalking a burning Facility worker. This suggests that the Twins may possess the ability to manipulate fire or other matter, but this is unconfirmed.

Inspiration[]

A pair of stuffed animals can be seen when Dana first observes the cellar in light.

Historically, twins have often been regarded as having mystical properties. More specifically, the Twins appear to be a tribute to the supernatural Grady girls who appear in Stephen King’s 1977 horror novel The Shining and its 1980 Stanley Kubrick film adaptation.
