The Dismemberment Goblins are Monsters within Facility. They were listed on the whiteboard, but were not bet on. They were seen several times during the System Purge.

Physical Descriptions and Attributes[]

The Dismemberment Goblins are a pair of humanoid demonic creatures of immense strength despite their diminutive stature. One of the goblins is red, and takes on a more stereotypical demonic look; dark red skin, spiky toes and fingernails, sharp teeth, pale white eyes and two long horns protruding from each side of its head. It also has a pair of small bat-like wings, allowing it to fly as seen during the first wave of the System Purge. The second goblin is green, and has a shorter, stubbier appearance with smaller teeth and nails. This goblin also has chains wrapped around its neck and wrists. As their name explicitly states, their preferred method of killing their victims is by tearing them apart limb from limb. They're often recognized by their maniacal laughter which can heard all throughout their appearances during the Purge.

Chains or dismembered children's toys are what possibly summons them in the Cabin's Cellar.

Appearances[]

The green goblin appears on the 8th mini monitor on the bottom middle, before Truman spotted Dana and Marty, in camera 0206. Its possible the goblins are kept in separate cube prisons. However this would not make sense as they are released together during the Purge. The reasoning for them to be seen separately is unknown, but its possible this was an editing glitch or the red goblin was out of view.

During the first wave of the purge, the Dismemberment Goblins were seen grabbing a member of the Security Force, pulling him apart from the waist. They then throw the upper half of the guard at the camera, which ends the scene. Later they were seen on one of the monitors taking a golf cart for a joy ride, with the green one holding the head of a facility worker in its hand.

The Dismemberment Goblins are seen many times in the behind the scenes footage of the Purge. They even have their own segment where the developers talk about them, meaning they were likely favorites amongst the cast and crew.

Inspiration[]

They are conceptually similar to the malicious creatures of the Gremlins franchise and the goblins of Labyrinth, though they bear more resemblance to the titular creatures of Ghoulies, Creeps, Hobgoblins, Critters and Troll. The shot of the goblins joyriding in a golf cart seems to perfectly mimic a similar scene from Hobgoblins.
